Ink Wash school assignment


As part of my Graphic Design course requirement, I am taking a drawing course. This week we had to do what is called an Ink Wash. It similar to watercolor, in fact, some regard the two to be one-in-the-same. However, the difference is you use water soluble paint doing watercolor but you use water soluble ink, the same that can be use for caligraphy, to do an ink wash. I have never done it before. It is very interesting to say the least. You primarily use paint brushes but can also use other items. I used different items in addition to the various paint brushes like paper towel sheet, a sea sponge, cardboard and a plastic tooth pick.

We had to do a black and white landscape as an ink wash medium. I re-created an old photograph taken by idib, inc back in 1983 of a man who appears to walking with a cane in the woods or a park wearing a long coat and top hat.
